TFP010: Mayi Carles and the magic of authenticy

Holy cow batman! Mayi Carles! The Tiny Panamanian with a T-Rex heart gives us the exclusive on her Life is Messy brand and how she found her tribe.

I play her the ukulele.
She gives me the smack down about taking one week off podcasting.

It’s pretty amazing. She says, “just do your thing and the people will show up but you gotta make your listeners FEEL something.”

  • BTW, I have been using that spaghetti method (also my favorite food) the past year and a half while developing a cohesive business from several angles. It’s a great way to discover patterns and make connections and leave behind what isn’t fitting. Mayi, and lately April, have been really helpful in my journey because they have gone before me and they freely share so much of their wisdom. My biggest takeaway really is the idea to be the business; the business is YOU. You can copy a little, find you way through methods you see that you love, but in the end, you are making relationships with clients/customers/cohorts and so it’s all about sharing yourself and not an image. Thanks for this podcast Farideh and Mayi!

    • So amazing Allison! I love hearing the spaghetti technique is alive and well. Sharing ourselves sometimes takes time but when we get there it is incredible – Mayi and April demonstrate it everyday!

Nikki-Elledge-Brown-300x300I love how Farideh takes the overwhelm out of something we all tend to resist like crazy (even though we *know* it can lead to direct ROI!). The way she breaks each step into simple (often melodic) chunks is as delightfully refreshing as she is.
