How to make 6 figures online (with your first launch)

As a launch strategist and Facebook advertising manager I’ve been on the team of many a launches and a few 6 figure launches. Making 6 figures online on your first launch is not easy. As much as we see stories of people who do it overnight, generally it’s a longer process of multiple launches over time. Here’s what I’ve seen over and over again has worked in helping clients make 6 figures online with their first launch!

Making 6 figures online on your first launch is not easy. As much as we see stories of people who do it overnight, generally it’s a longer process of multiple launches over time.

Here’s what I’ve seen over and over again has worked in helping clients make 6 figures online with their first launch:

Sell something people wanna buy.

This is overly simple I know. I wrote a song about it to make it funner.

However, you’d be surprised how often it is overlooked. As entrepreneurs we are artists and sometimes an idea for a course or offering buds inside of us and we don’t check to ensure someone wants to buy that flowering idea of ours.

Research what your audience says or common questions in social media groups. Ask your subscribers and clients what they want. Perhaps you want to sell a course but they would rather have a membership platform. When your product is something people want to buy, making 6 figures is possible.

Beta test your product.

Ensure your product works. If you have massive sales and then a bunch of unhappy customers – you’ll have a ton of refund requests and a big headache.

Also, to have a 6-figure launch you need massive amounts of trust. People need to see testimonials and results. If you beta test your product, you can have testimonials from the beta testers to share on your sales page and social media.

Nurture a large audience.

You need to have a large audience who wants what you are selling. If your list is 500 people, the likelihood of you having a 6-figure launch is very unlikely.

You will also need an audience who knows and loves you. You can’t sell to strangers, they don’t trust you enough to give you their money.

This is why we always recommend with our clients to start WELL in advance of your launch. We run Facebook ads months in advance working on list building and relationship building so when it comes to launch time your audience knows exactly who you are and are chompin at the bit to buy.

Many of the individuals making 6 figures online with their first launch are not launching for the first time. They have probably launched smaller products (or other products) many times before. This means they have testimonials, connections with other influencers and affiliates and their audience has a taste of their previous work – therefore trust is already built.

Connect with affiliates with large audiences.

Even if you don’t have a large audience, you will need to access new audiences at some point. Connect with others who have large audiences and giving them a 50% affiliate fee is one of the BIG strategies for 6 figure launches. In fact, if you dive deep into the many stories of those launches you’ll see a big influencer who threw some weight and mentorship behind that rising star.

Sell a high priced offering.

One of the secrets to those 6-figure launches is that usually they aren’t selling small ticket items. It’s easier to find 50 online course participants who want to pay $2000 than 10,000 people who want to pay $10. I won’t lie, both are hard – but depending on what you sell and your market – in the online world I see the high price points often lead to the 6 figures.

Upsells & Down Sells

It’s all about the funnel baby. Just selling a course? Hezah! No way. You gotta upsell, downsell and side sell – like a dance really.

For the people who want a bit more hand holding, upsell them to a high end version of our product.

For the people who don’t buy give them a lower end product. And for those customers who purchased, what can you sell them when the course or membership is done?

It doesn’t have to be complicated, your Facebook ads manager can set it up that your ads run and do the selling on your behalf (we always recommend an email or two as well).

The stories of making 6 figures online on their first launch are usually including upsells and downsells.

Invest in advertising.

99.9% of the online entrepreneurs making 6 figures are investing in advertising either on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Google and the like (BTW, we can help you with that if you like).

Why? Because it super charges your growth and sales. Advertising ensures your client doesn’t miss your webinar or launch.

Without advertising you’re not going to make as many sales.

Also, don’t launch alone. You’ll go crazy. That’s a rule of mine “never launch alone”. You’ll burn out, wanna cry and even if you make 6 figures you’ll vow to never do it again. Bring on a FB ad management team, a VA, designer, writer or at least someone to hold you when you’re scared. Launching is highly emotional and the more you do yourself, the more freaked out you’ll be.

Remember a 6 figure launch doesn’t mean you’re making 6 figures.

Keep in mind that when someone says they made 6 figures online on their first launch. They are usually saying gross sales, not net. They aren’t sharing what they made after paying for designers, copywriters, technical support, affiliate payouts, Paypal fees and advertising costs. That goes for all 6 and 7 figure claims really – the more important question is – what was the profit?

Did I miss something? What else do you need to make 6 figures online on your first launch?

Nikki-Elledge-Brown-300x300I love how Farideh takes the overwhelm out of something we all tend to resist like crazy (even though we *know* it can lead to direct ROI!). The way she breaks each step into simple (often melodic) chunks is as delightfully refreshing as she is.
